Miranda is a cis-woman, but inadvertently entered a shop catering to male cross-dressers while looking for a date outfit.  (I tried to use the most accepted terminology - please correct me if I've messed it up!)

I'm not familiar with this show, but that dress is awesome. I especially like her expression in the fifth picture. :)

LJ ate my reply :( silly fail internet. (And then I posted it as a new comment instead of a reply... *facepalm*)

Anyway, the show is a BBC comedy. I haven't seen many episodes because I keep forgetting when it's on, but I've really enjoyed the ones I have.

The dress is sort of awesome... a bit overkill for a first date, perhaps? ;)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the fifth picture is from when she came in to show off her outfit, and her best friend looked at her, asked her why she was dressed like a transvestite, and burst out laughing. It's the sort of "wait, what?!" expression you'd have on hearing that! :)
