The pirate AU was fun to write! Teresa Lisbon is a homicide detective (and head of her unit) in modern-day Sacramento, California - so you can see why she's not exactly sold on piracy. Blanche Mottershead is an archaeologist in 1938-9 London, and played by Alex Kingston! I almost wished I'd gone for ELeven instead of Ten so I could have a River Song reference... I suppose I could have had one, but it felt a bit forced with Ten.
