The fact that the seasons are the same in both hemispheres... Oh, wait, no they're not :P I'm afraid that pesky tilted rotation axis makes this question slightly pointless in half the globe.

In other news, I saw the official trailer for The Hobbit today! All I could think was *squeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* and "why still a year away, why?????"

Not only that, but some countries define first day of winter as December 1, rather than Winter Solstice.

It's so annoying when people assume that seasons/times/experiences/etc are the same worldwide.

Semi-related: I once saw a poster that said "Axial tilt is the reason for the season". ;)
